week by week

Another month of summer has passed, another month with no blog posts. Yikes.

Friday June 7 we got home so late (technically the 8th) that I just went right inside my dad's house and crashed. The following morning I mowed then spent the afternoon and evening with Josue and my mom too. I showed pictures from our awesome vacation, got to hold his sister Perla's young kittens, and Josue and I even stopped by a bon fire for a little while. I missed the ocean but was happy to be home as well.

Sunday June 9 Michael and Maria discovered they had dressed in matching outfits. With Michael's encouragement I had to follow suit and found the perfect dress.
After going to church I accompanied my mom and Dan in taking Maria to Camp Tecumseh! I couldn't believe she was a CILT and it was finally her year to live in the long house, very exciting! I was also happy to get to see Sarah Wright, one of my CILT counselors from 2010! She naturally just radiates joy and it had been so long since I had gotten the chance to see her in person!

Tuesday June 11 Josue came over for dinner with us and to hang out. I was especially proud of the salad that I helped create, especially the delicious chunks of smooth avocado that has since become a staple in our summer salad.
After dinner Josue and I had a photo shoot with Dan- it was so much fun! Well mostly Dan just likes to take action shots as he told us and just continues to click the shutter button long after we are done doing our typical arm around each other, standing straight ahead, and smiling pose.

Wednesday June 12 I woke up early, curled my hair, buttoned up Maria's shirt I borrowed from her closet, sucked in my stomach to zip up the skirt and left for my interview! I had an interview for a posit I had applied for online before leaving for Gulf Shores to do laundry at the hospital. I was a little overdressed, as the interview was very informal, but I was still pleased with my look and my new job! Though it has been a long journey doing laundry, I am still proud of myself for finding and earning my summer job all on my own. I still remember how happy and excited and proud I was as I closed the door behind me after accepting the job and was walking out into the parking lot to my car to drive home and spread the good news to everyone!
That night Josue and I joined my mom and Dan for dinner at Little Mexico then hung out at home talking on the back porch. Love summer nights like that!
Thursday June 13 I ran errands with my mom and grandma including a successful trip to goodwill while they grocery shopped- I knew I could find a tshirt with a wolf on it to send to Maria at camp! Even if it wasn't quite her size.

Thursday my mom and I got to make a trip to visit our favorite (and only) hairdresser Robyn at Robyn's Nest in Lafayette. I'm so happy we have remained faithful to her even after her family moved out of Cville, definitely worth the trip! I don't really trust anyone else with my hair, plus she is an awesome role model and great to talk to. There's more therapy in a hair appointment then the visual result.
Once we returned to town I hung out with my dad at his house for the night which included a long tour of all of his plants and trees around the yard, though I ended up being fascinated taking pictures with some weeds (and the evening sunlight shining through them), wearing my Grandpa Demeter's sweatshirt, and visiting with our neighbor next door who we fondly refer to as grandma.
That night Josue, Michael, and I went to see This is The End in theaters. Though I thought it dragged on, it was funny and funny watching it with them. I'm glad we are all friends and hang out sometimes. Plus Michael bought our tickets! Woo hoo! How could it not have been a good time?
